Knowing Jesus & making him known
Frequently Asked Questions
If you are planning your first visit to our church, you probably have a lot of questions! Below are a list of some of the Frequently Asked Questions. If your question isn’t answered below, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’d be happy to answer any questions you may have!
Where does the Vineyard meet?
We are located near the heart of Red Bluff at 738 Walnut Street. You can find directions here.
What time is your church service?
Our Sunday service begins at 9:15 & 11am and lasts for about an hour and twenty minutes. We have coffee and donuts available beginning at 9:30am and would love for you to join us!
How long is your church service?
Our Sunday service is an hour and twenty minutes.
What are Vineyard church services like?
The Vineyard is welcoming, friendly, and centered on Jesus! We have a “come as you are” vibe.
Our service typically starts off with a few songs to help us turn our attention toward Jesus. Then we remember Christ’s death by receiving Communion. After Communion, we’ll have a few announcements and a short video before our message. The messages are based on the Bible and we do our best to keep these messages both practical and relevant, as well as designed to help us all connect with God! When the teaching time is over, we like to offer an opportunity for people to receive prayer if they have any specific needs.
We do not make new guests stand up or do anything that would embarrass our visitors! We will welcome you as a friend and do our best to serve you!
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you feel comfortable!
(within reason, people! This is a church for crying out loud, ha ha!)
But seriously, people wear a variety of clothing styles, from “Sunday’s best” to shorts, t-shirts, or sweat pants. Just relax and dress as you like!
What do you have for my kids?
We care about kids because Jesus cares about kids! And we believe every child has a unique part to play in God’s kingdom. Our goal is to help children understand and grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; to help them learn the Great Command to love God and love others. And all this happens in a safe* and fun environment. We also care about kids and families with special needs, so don’t hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do to help you and your family! The Vineyard offers age appropriate ministries for all children and we do our best to help them grow to encounter God’s love and grow as disciples of Jesus. We feel that children are every bit as important as the adults, so we offer a lot more than “childcare.”
Just show up and one of our greeters will be happy to show you where the classrooms are.
Because we take seriously the need to have a safe space for your family, we do background checks on all of our volunteers.
I'm a nursing mom. Do you have anywhere private I can go to nurse my baby?
Yes! We have a private room for nursing moms that allows continued participation through a one-sided window and a speaker that allows nursing moms to listen to the music and sermon.
I (or someone I love) has a disability. Is there anything I should know?
First, we want to ensure you that you will be loved and treated with dignity here at the Vineyard. We are blessed to have people in our community that have disabilities and believe that God has called the church to be a blessing in everyone’s lives. We also believe that people with disabilities can be a huge blessing to people too (one of our pastors wrote a blog post on this that you might enjoy; it conveys our heart on the matter!).
With that being said, we do have wheel chair access throughout our building. If you have any other needs, please feel free to contact us and let us know!
Do you serve coffee? Can I take it in the sanctuary?
Yes, we have coffee! And yes, coffee cups are welcome at the Vineyard!
I am shy and I don’t want to be pressured to join anything. Is that okay?
One of our values is “Come as you are.” We don’t want anyone to feel like they have to do anything. So don’t worry, you are totally free to just come and hang out and do whatever you are comfortable with.
The Vineyard is a place where extraverts and introverts alike can come and gather to encounter the Risen Lord Jesus, so don’t worry about being forced to stand up and stand out, being pressured to come forward for prayer if you don’t want it, or do anything else we’d all agree is a little weird.
Who is allowed to attend your church?
Everyone!
(OK – nobody’s ever asked that question, but we want to go on record as officially inviting you to come and join us!)
